Firearms Licensing

Rollinsford residents may pick up an application at the Rollinsford Police Department, or complete and download the form online.  Once the completed application has been approved, you will be notified that it is ready to pick up.  When picking up the permit, you will need to present a valid photo identification card and pay a fee of $10.00.  The permit is valid for four years.

Non New Hampshire residents may download an application here, or obtain one through the NH State Police.

Parking Ban

No vehicles shall park on any public way within the Town of Rollinsford, New Hampshire between the hours of 12:00 AM midnight and 6:00 am from November 25th until April 1st.  Any person in violation of this section shall be fined not more than $25.00 and shall have his or her vehicle towed at the owner’s expense if said vehicle is or may be hindering snow removal.

The chairman of the Board of Selectmen or the Chief of Police shall have the power to declare a snow emergency whereby he may order that all night parking ban will be changed to 6:00 pm to 6:00 am for the duration of the snow emergency only.

All residences are required to have off street parking.  People living in an apartment building should consult with their landlord about off street parking for their residence.

If you have received a parking ticket and wish to contest the ticket, you shall submit a letter to the Chief of Police within 10 days of the issuance of the ticket, explaining the reasons why the ticket is being contested.

Tickets issued as a result of a motor vehicle violation shall be paid directly to the State of New Hampshire-DMV within 30 days from the date of issuance.  Failure to do so may result in additional penalties and suspension of driving privileges.  Carefully follow the directions of the back of the ticket and mail the ticket and payment in the envelope provided.  The New Hampshire-DMV does accept payment using Mastercard and Visa.  Payment using Mastercard and visa can also be paid over the telephone by calling 1-800-272-0036.  You will need to have a copy of the ticket in hand when calling the DMV.

Tickets marked as “MUST APPEAR” require the attendance of the person summonsed to appear at the District Court on the date and time noted on the ticket.  Failure to do may result in additional penalties and suspension of driving privileges, and warrant for arrest.

Any person who receives a ticket as a result of a violation of the Animal Control Ordinance shall pay the fee directly to the Rollinsford Police Department or Rollinsford Town Clerk within 7 day of the issuance of the ticket.  Failure to do so may result in additional penalties and summons to the District Court.

Barking Dogs

It is against the law for a dog to bark excessively.  Please contact the police department dispatch center at (603) 742-2724 and a police officer or the Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to investigate the nuisance.

Animal Registrations

All dogs three months of age or older must be registered with the Rollinsford Town Clerk annually, on or before April 1.  You must show proof of a current rabies vaccination at the time you register your dog.  Should you have any questions concerning the licensing of your dog, please visit the Town of Rollinsford website or call the Rollinsford Town Clerk at (603) 742-2510.

There are no provisions to register cats in the Town of Rollinsford, therefore the Animal Control Officer or Police Department have no authority to impound a cat which has been found to be at large.  If you find a sick or injured cat, please report this immediately to the police department dispatch center at (603) 742-2724.

Deceased Animals

If the deceased animal is on the roadway and a traffic hazard, please contact the police department dispatch center at (603) 742-2724 and arrangements will be made to have the animal removed.

If a deceased domestic animal is found on your property, please contact the police department dispatch center at (603) 742-2724 and a police officer or the Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to remove the animal.

You are responsible for removing your own deceased domestic animals or deceased wild animals found on your property.

Lost Pets

Please call the police department dispatch center at (603) 742-2724 and provide the pet’s name, breed, color, distinguishing marks or characteristics, when last seen, location and time.  You should also contact local veterinarians and animal shelters.
